Middle and high school students can take individual courses or join the Humane Letters Diploma Program. The course catalogue is below.

SEMINAR & TUTORIAL FORMATS

All writing-intensive courses (writing, and high school history, literature, and politics/philosophy/economics) have two components:

  • SEMINAR: a seminar-style class meeting, requiring students to complete readings and brief assignments (daily-work/commonplacing) outside of class
  • TUTORIAL: submission of all major writing assignments for feedback at each stage of the writing process, all via email; occasional opportunities for one-to-one in-person tutorials may be available

All upper-level history and literature courses, and Philosophy, Politics & Economics, may be taken EITHER as a seminar with the writing tutorial OR as a seminar only:

  • SEMINAR WITH WRITING TUTORIAL – 2024-25 Tuition: $80 per student per months for 10 months, August through May
  • SEMINAR ONLY– 2024-25 Tuition: $65 per student per months for 10 months, August through May
